What started as a nod to hurricane season and a local meteorologist Denis Phillips’s Rule #7 (Don’t Freak Out) has now become an annual tradition in Tampa Bay, and that yearly tradition is Crooked Thumb Brewery’s Rule #7 Pale Ale, and it is releasing soon.

From Crooked Thumb Brewery:
Almost eight years ago, we brewed a beer and named it Rule #7 to honor our favorite meteorologist, Denis Phillips. Since then, we have released Rule #7 every year at the start of hurricane season, kicking it off with a meet and greet with Denis. Tomorrow is the day for Rule #7 Release with Denis Phillips . The beer will be available on draft and in cans when we open at noon. Denis will be here starting at 3pm until ??? $2 from every 4-pack of cans sold will be donated to the Red Cross. Denis will also have some of his Rule #7 merchandise for sale. Bria Wood-Fired Pizza will be serving pies in the beer garden. It is always a great time but will be crowded so if possible uber, walk, bike, ride-share to the brewery. If you drive, please observe no-parking signs on some of the neighborhood streets and use City Park if necessary.
We look forward to seeing everyone. Don’t Freak Out!!

About Crooked Thumb Brewery
Crooked Thumb Brewery owes its name to Pinellas County, which has been said to “hang off the west coast of Florida like a crooked thumb.” The brewery opened to the public in October 2015. The tasting room is a creative restoration of a warehouse built in 1963 that was previously an auto body and paint shop. The 6,000-square-foot space is located just two blocks off Main Street in Safety Harbor, FL. The brewery houses a 15-barrel brew system with an offering of 15-20 beers on tap in the tasting room. Beer is distributed to the local market in kegs and special bottle releases.
