Zephyrhills Brewing Company has been sold

Lately, when a post begins by saying that a brewery has been sold, that post also gives patrons and fans a week (if lucky) to come and say goodbye to a beloved brewery or establishment. So, when Zephyrhills Brewing Company owner Steve Bahorski began a post that way, it felt like bad news was coming. Thankfully, the news changed for the better.

About Tampa Bay Brewing Company
Tampa Bay Brewing Company is one of Florida’s first & premier Craft Breweries. TBBC opened at the tail end of the last “Micro-Brew” Boom. Our philosophy then and now is simple: Brew beer we love to drink! Thank goodness there were plenty of like-minded people around to support our endeavor. Today, TBBC thrives within the incredible brewing community of Tampa, Florida which was once just a two brewery town…we were lonely back then! We currently operate an Ybor Brewpub and a Production Brewery in the northern part of Tampa. We are organically growing distribution with the end goal of being a Florida-only brand with a driving vision of Beer Crafted for the Florida Lifestyle.

3 Daughters Brewing welcomes their 2ND Annual Oktoberfest festival

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — 3 Daughters Brewing is bringing back St. Pete’s largest Bavarian celebration, as the 2nd Annual BayFirst Financial Oktoberfest will be taking place on Saturday, September 28 from 1-6 pm in Albert Whitted Park.

The German extravaganza is expected to bring thousands to St. Pete’s downtown waterfront in a day full of great beer, classic Bavarian food, live Oompah music, and traditional Oktoberfest games for all to compete and enjoy.

St. Pete and Tampa Bay are Florida’s hub for craft beer – dubbed the Gulp Coast – and 3 Daughters Brewing is proud to help lead the charge in bringing community-minded festivities and cheer to the area. The award-winning independent brewery announced that its Oktoberfest Marzen Lager, a highly anticipated fan favorite, will begin hitting stores, bars, and restaurants throughout Florida this weekend.

“We couldn’t be more excited to bring back our 2nd annual Oktoberfest festival, one of the biggest and best in all of Florida! This is the time of year when we get to break out our Marzen beer, Lederhosen, Dirndls and really turn up the fun.” Said Brian Horne, COO. “The energy, the music, the incredible beer—it’s all coming together for an epic celebration, and we can’t wait to raise a glass with everyone!” said Mr. Horne.

The Oktoberfest Lager is not only a favorite among the brewing team at 3 Daughters Brewing, but it has also developed a cult following locally as those in the know eagerly anticipate its release every August. The Marzen-style lager is named as such because Bavarians used to brew it in March (Marzen is German for March) in the last of the cool air, before storing it in caves and saving it all summer for the end-of-summer celebration. The smooth brew has a slight bready sweetness from the caramel malts, complemented by a crisp finish thanks to its traditional noble hops.
The BayFirst Financial Oktoberfest beer festival is doubling down on the festivities and fun after the huge success of last year’s inaugural festival. GA tickets are $7 ($10 at the door), which include full access to the festival and its events. VIP Biergarten tickets include an all-you-can-eat German buffet, three stein fills, a covered tent, and private air-conditioned bathrooms and other benefits. The festival is family-friendly and children 12 and under get in free but must be accompanied by an adult.
The festival is a true Bavarian celebration, with authentic German polka bands playing all day, traditional Oktoberfest games that are free to play, tons of great German food from local chefs and food trucks, and of course, kegs upon kegs of cold local and international beers. The festival will also feature a massive vendor market with more than three dozen of St. Pete’s best shops, makers and more. Following last year’s success, organizers are planning for an even bigger celebration this time around with more tents, more seating, more beer, and most importantly – more booths to get beer.

To help locals get in the Oktoberfest spirit ahead of the festival, 3 Daughters Brewing is also running a giveaway where one grand prize winner will get to have their own Oktoberfest party at the brewery. The party includes 20 guests, a German buffet, great German beer, and a VIP space in the 3 Daughters Tasting Room. Additionally, two second place winners will receive VIP tickets to the Oktoberfest Festival in Williams Park. Those 21+ can enter by scanning the QR on the side of all 3 Daughters Oktoberfest Marzen cans, or by visiting 3dbrewing.com/Oktoberfest_contest.
