Ever since announcing his impending move out of Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood, J. Wakefield Brewing has alluded to an impending “last hurrah” party to send the taproom off in style. The brewery has set a date and posted some details online, with more promised to follow.
J. Wakefield Brewing broke the news recently on the Steal This Beer Podcast, but the brewery has not released the news until now. This afternoon, the news became official (and with new dates from the podcast).
One of Florida’s most popular dessert-beer confectionaries is at it again with their beers of Pi Day. Oakland Park’s Funky Buddha Brewery is celebrating March 14th by giving the people what they want – pie-inspired beers, this time debuting in 16oz cans.
One of the culinary-inspired beers that helped put South Florida’s craft beer scene on the map is undeniably Funky Buddha Brewery’s Maple Bacon Coffee Porter. For many years, the beer’s release has been promoted to a festival where lots of Funky Buddha beers and some guest beers were poured and a celebratory atmosphere reigned through the Funky Buddha faithful. (This festival also signaled that the beer would soon see a wider release on draft and in bottles.)
The Miami-area craft brewer, J. Wakefield Brewing has hosted Wakefest, an annual invitational beer festival and anniversary celebration, for the past eight years. In a letter dated 2/9, the brewery announces that the festival will not have its scheduled slot in 2024.
Open since 2016 and ranked one of the fastest-growing breweries in the U.S. in 2018, Miami’s The Tank Brewing Company continues to grow and expand their beer portfolio. While their taproom is working to provide Miami-Dade with the great beers they’re known for on draft, The Tank announced two new bottled beers.
Today, The Tank announces the release of two wild ales from their brewery dropping (tonight) November 1st.

The last surviving male northern white rhino passed away last year at the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Laikipia, Kenya. Sudan, who was the equivalent of 90 in human years, escaped extinction in the 1970s. He significantly helped the survival of his species as he sired two female northern white rhinos. To pay our respects to Sudan (the last male northern white rhino), we will be donating some of the proceeds of each 4-pack to help fight rhino extinction.
