The chapter has closed on another Tampa Bay Beer Week, and after attending some classic events and some new events, there are a few common threads that seemed to ring true for all time and some that are changing rapidly.
One of the most fantastic weeks of the year is beginning on Friday, March 1st! Tampa Bay Beer Week is again upon us and the week will see a massive number of beer releases and events from breweries around Tampa Bay and surrounding counties all celebrating the love of beer and beer culture.
Largo’s stalwart Arkane Ale Works has posted the details of their 2024 Tampa Bay Beer Week bottle set, and by the looks of it, the brewery has set up another year of sought-after releases and crowd favorites.

St. Petersburg’s Cycle Brewing has announced ticket sales and preliminary details of their annual festival of barrel-aged beer during Tampa Bay Beer Week – Barrel-Aged Day. As usual, the event will take place at the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club, and tickets will be sold beginning on Saturday, January 8th.

Barrel Aged (BA) Day Tickets will be for sale at the tap room this Saturday, January 8th at 12 PM. BA Day will take place on Friday, March 11th from 12-4 at the Shuffleboard Club. The ticket includes a Festival Only bottle, glass, and unlimited pours at the event. Tickets will be $125 VIP and $100 General Admission. VIP access allows entrance 1 hour early at 11 am. Limit will be 4pp with proxies allowed. ID required and if you are buying a ticket for somebody you must have their full name – entrance to event is based on the list of names not the physical tickets. Tickets are non-transferable. Cash preferred. If there are any left over tickets, they will be sold via cyclebrewing.com with online sales time and limits TBD. We’ll post updates as we have them. See you Saturday!

Our taproom is home to several barrel-aged stouts on tap at all times. In the past, as we were growing the supply was limited and these beers didn’t last long but we expanded barrel storage and now have enough so that everybody coming to the taproom can try some of our most highly rated and prized beers without the hype or lines created by limited supply. Quality is always top priority, in this case making more meant more practice and opportunity to tweak beers and the results are greater availability and improved quality.
It is no secret that 7venth Sun is driving great beer forward in their Dunedin home and that, as they told Florida Beer News, the new Sun location in Seminole Heights is well on its way. This year, the annual day-after-Hunahpu Day celebration, dubbed Hunahpu Hangover Day, will have a brother.

This year for Hangover Day, we thought we would christen our new location with a lot party in honor of you. Since we are still in the process of building out for the new facility, the parking lot will host the event. And because Dunedin is where it all started and what you made possible, we are also going to continue the tradition of Dunedin Hangover Day, too.
Thanks again for believing in what we do. It’s damned fun because we get to hang out with you while we drink and make beer.

Green Bench Brewing of Saint Petersburg has more than a few events lined up for Tampa Bay’s hoppiest hours. Brewer Khris Johnson and staff are busy prepping for the takeovers, events, and new beers coming this week.

3/10 – Beer pairing at Locale Market starting at 6 PM
3/11 – Ybor City Kill the Keg Pub Crawl (6 PM) – $30 entry to help TBBC, CCB, 7th Sun, GB, and Coppertail kill 5 kegs at New World, Bricks, TBBC, Brass Tap, and Bad Monkey. After all of the kegs are emptied we’ll hang out and drink them all on tap at Dirty Shame.
3/11 – Cask Night @ Wild Rover Brewing (7 PM) – Maximo Milk Stout aged on Buddy Brew Ethiopian Coffee and Red Oak
3/12 – Swamphead Brewing Tap Takeover at Green Bench
